THE BLUE JOURNAL

Aleppo.jpg

Welcome to The Blue Journal. This website is a collection of stories, both mine and of others, of conflict, interesting places, events, and peoples experiences I have come across whilst exploring our planet.

Almost all of these stories come from either former Soviet Republics, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and East Africa, regions of the world I find incredibly interesting, from their history, wars, culture, to their peoples perspectives of life and the world. This website gets its name 'The Blue Journal' from my first travel notepad I bought, which happened to be blue. I began by writing down peoples accounts from the fall of communism in the Balkans, about life in Yugoslavia and Albania, and the wars that happened during the 90s. From there it sparked what would later become this website, and a pile of full notebooks sitting on my bedroom desk at home, waiting to be typed up.

This website also contains photo journals containing my photographs from different places, consisting of both film and digital. Below are each of my journals, and the website continues to be updated as I explore new corners of the planet. Please enjoy reading.
